Call your local Kamps Propane and describe the problem:
NO HOT WATER - Is the pilot lit? A qualified serviceman must re-light it and cycle the gas control.
- Is the gas control thermostat set property? It should be on "Normal" for 140 degrees water temperature required by a dish washer.
WATER LEAK: - If a water leak exists, it may just be the normal condensate which forms when a new unit is first placed into service..
- If the leak is not from condensate, you should turn off the cold water supply valve on top of the unit and open a hot water faucet to allow pressure to be reduced. If the tank is shown to be the source of the leak,
a garden hose should be attached to the drain valve, routed outside, and allow the water heater to be drained..
WATER T00 HOT: - Is the thermostat on control set too high.
- If the burner continues to burn after reducing the control knob, you must turn off the gas
supply to prevent damage to the unit. A serviceman must be called to repair the unit.
WATER TOO COLD: - Did you wait an unreasonable length of time after washing or drawing bath water?
- Have you drained your tank periodically (till water runs clean usually (2-3 gallons) to get rid of sediment buildup on bottom of tank?
NOISE - A gurgling sound during the heating cycle indicates a build-up of minerals.
These need to be drained from the tank every six months by a garden hose connected to the drain valve.
- Noise like a blow torch indicates ignition taking place in the venturi and serviceman needs to repair.
- Hammering sounds when shutting off the hot water indicates the air chambers are water logged.
Shut off cold water supply, drain down lines, then re-charge with water.
