If you think there is an outside gas leak, call you local Kamps Propane office immediately
and try to have answers to the following questions.
Can you determine the source of the leak?
If at the tank, can you locate the leak?
If the leak is at the regulator, pigtail, gas line or around the filler valve or gauge, you will be instructed to shut off the service valve.
If the leak is at the relief valve, it is advisable to stay away from the tank.
If it is relieving because of hot weather, you may be advised to spray the tank with a garden hose to cool it.
If you are unsure of the source of the leak, you will be advised to shut off the tank service valve if you feel safe in doing so.
The propane company will dispatch a service person.
ALL GAS LEAKS ARE SERIOUS AND TAKE PRIORITY OVER ALL OTHER SERVICE WORK. THE MORE INFORMATION THE CUSTOMER CAN PROVIDE THE GREATER CHANCE THE SERVICEMAN WILL HAVE IN PREPARING FOR THE REPAIR.
